disappointment looms
on the darker side of life
where it seems that we are groomed
to accept the struggle and strife
bear it with your head held high
speak not of it at length
and your soul will slowly die
sapping all your strength
yes, it is your job to bear it
whatever comes your way
but you are never to share it
if you wish to keep your pay ~
